Germany - Bielefeld to Cologne

Construction continued on the Gothic architecture of Cologne Cathedral, from the 1200s until the 1500s then stopped due to a lack of funds. It took almost 300 years before it restarted and it wasn't completed until 1880. Even now, it is never without scaffolding, as it is in constant need of renovations.
